I am a writer, and an entrepreneur. I enjoy using my imagination to create something out of nothing. I take notes and write down ideas. I journal every morning.
I spend more money on books each month than I do on gas for my truck. I live to learn.
I married the love of my life at the top of the Empire State Building in NYC on Valentine’s Day in 2012. After that, I promised her that the rest of our lives would be spent doing incredible things that neither of us had ever thought we could do before. And I intend to keep that promise.
I pursue activities that give me chills and make me feel ALIVE.
I am passionate about living my life to it’s fullest. To me, that means doing what I want to do and avoiding things and people that make me unhappy.
I love to lift weights because it is empowering and it makes me appreciate my body and my capabilities. I am a (semi-retired) competitive bodybuilder. I was painfully shy as a kid, and competing helped me become a more confident and self-reliant adult. I love helping others discover their strengths and accomplish their dreams. I started my business, Figarelle’s Fitness in 2006 in order to inspire my clients to become the best version of themselves.
I am a passionate advocate of equal rights. I’ve known I was gay since I was 4 years old. I came out to my family when I was 15. I struggled, but I eventually found strength in adversity. Fitness helped me through the darkest, loneliest days of my life. It still does.
I strive to be the happiest and strongest version of myself, everyday.
These are my stories.
